The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, places the Crown of St. Edward on the head of King Charles III of Great Britain during the coronation ceremony inside Westminster Abbey in central London on May 6, 2023. Camilla, his second wife, will be crowned queen alongside him and will be known as Queen Camilla after the ceremony. Charles became king in September 2022 when his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died at the age of 96. She was the longest-reigning monarch in British history.
